German handball backcourt player Sven, son of Wolfgang Lakenmacher, placed fifth with his team at the Sydney Olympics in 2000. He won 47 international caps and scored 93 goals.
At club level, Lakenmacher played with SC Magdeburg (1987-90), TV Großwallstadt (1990-97), TuS Nettelstedt (1997-2003), Portland San Antonio in Spain (2003-04), Eintracht Hildesheim (2004-08), and HF Springe (2008-11). He helped Nettelstedt win the Euro-City-Cup in 1998, and San Antonio the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 2004.
Lakenmacher turned to coaching after his active career and worked with HF Springe (2008-11 and 2014-15), HSV Hannover-Burgdorf (2011-14), and Sportfreunde Söhre (from 2016). His daughter Mia also became a handball professional and his son Fynn was a football professional with TSV 1860 München.
