Biography

Hungarian ice hockey goaltender György Losonczi joined Vörös Meteor in Budapest 1958 and remained at the club for the next 10 years. Losonczi was a good technical player and was the second-choice goalie for the national team, with Mátyás Vedres usually playing instead. At the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics the pair shared goalkeeping duties, with Losonczi often replacing Vedres on the ice as a substitution.
