Ekke Ozlberger was an Austrian portrait painter, landscape artist, nude painter, and graphic artist. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wien (Vienna) from 1908-12. After one year in München, he returned to Wien to complete his studies. This period was again interrupted by four years of service in World War I. In 1928 he became a member of the Künstlerhaus and received a number of awards. For a short time, Ozlberger was a member of the Austrian Nazi Party but was not admitted to the consolidated party after the Anschluss because his wife was half-Jewish. In 1944 he was bombed out. Ozlberger was ejected from the Künstlerhaus in 1945 and was only readmitted in 1952 as the last artist from the pre-war period. Nevertheless, he received their Golden Laurels in 1961. Ozlberger mainly painted portraits, nudes and landscapes in simple naturalism.
