Austrian architect Hermann Siegholzer earned the bronze medal at the 1936 Art Competitions in Berlin for his work Vienna Racing Courses for cars, cycling and equestrian sports in the Viennese district of Simmering in the category Architecture, Architectural Designs, with his partner Herbert Kastinger. The project, however, was not realized. Hermann Stiegholzer studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wien (Vienna) and later worked mainly with Kastinger. They built the first Labour Office in Wien after the Dessau model of Walter Gropius. Both, however, worked mainly in the field of housing construction, in which Stiegholzer was particularly concerned with the building of settlements and wrote on the topic. The team pioneered new concepts in urban housing. After the premature death of his partner, he continued to run the office on his own - even after the World War II - and implemented numerous projects in Wien.
