Belgian artist Nelly Degouy married painter Désiré Acket, who also participated in the 1932 art competitions. She was, like her husband, an illustrator, engraver and wood carver and particularly well-known for her Ex-Libris. She was trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of St. Luc in Brussels.
