Jørn Oberg Utzon, the nephew of Danish sculptor Einar Utzon-Frank, became a well-known architect in Denmark. Einar Utzon-Frank himself studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in København, where he taught as a professor from 1918. He later also became director of the academy and traveled to France, Germany, Italy, Greece and England. He began his artistic life as a painter but later became a sculptor. During his lifetime, he produced a large number of sculptures, many of which still stand as public monuments.
Utzon-Frank represented a decorative, eclectic style that was influenced by Greek archaic models and Renaissance art. Among his awards was the Thorvaldsen Medal in 1944. His son-in-law was the painter and author William Flemming Bergsøe and his son Bomand Utzon-Frank also became a sculptor. The submitted work cannot be identified. The Archer motif appears, among others, in his statuettes of the goddess Diana.
