Madeleine Cotty became known as a painter of landscapes and Paris city scenes. She exhibited regularly at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français and the Salon d’Automne. She entered a painting titled Jeu des grâces, a popular children’s game in 19th century’s France. Two players, each with a pair of sticks, throw one or two small hoops to each other and try to catch them.
