Louise Amelie Landré began her education in Charles Chaplin’s workshop, then changed over to Felix Joseph Barias and finally Jean Hubert. She began her career at the Salon des Indépendants in 1876. In 1885, she was named an associate of the Société des Artistes Français and continued to exhibit mainly female (nude) portraits, genre scenes and landscapes. Female dancers were among of her main motifs; therefore, her submitted paintings to the Olympic art competitions cannot be clearly assigned.
