Thurston Williams had an entry in the Architecture Competitions at the 1948 Arts Competition in London. He later became President of the Association of Official Architects in 1967. In 1969 Williams was named architect for the Hillingdon Borough Council, and in 1977 he was appointed managing director of the National Building Agency.
