Greek architect Patroklos Karantinos studied in Athina and became an architect of classical modernism, leaving for Paris after graduation. He later built many public buildings, including the Archaeological Museums in Heraklion and Thessaloníki. Later he was part of the school construction program of the Greek government and became its director. After World War II he taught from 1959-68 in Thessaloníki. In 1947 he produced a study for the Ministry of Education about an extension of the stadium in Chania, which was donated by Helena Venizelos and had been opened in 1936. A rebuilding of the ramps was to allow artistic performances in addition to sporting events.
