Paride Contri studied at the engineering faculty of the University of Bologna, from where he graduated in 1921. Later he was head of the municipal building department. His best known work is the Albaro swimming pool at Genova, which was also his submission for the 1936 art competitions. It was built between 1934-37, renovated in 2008 and is still in use. The pool was, on one hand, the most modern of its time technically and artistically, but on the other hand also a monument of Italian Fascism under Mussolini. Contri also designed the municipal flower market in the same town and probably was also involved in other projects, which cannot be clearly attributed.
