Adriaan van’t Hoff was a Dutch painter, draftsman, watercolorist, pastelist, illustrator, graphic artist, etcher, lithographer, and academy lecturer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Den Haag, where he later worked as a lecturer. Van ‘t Hoff‚ frequently travelled to Germany and Italy for further studies. His main subjects were landscapes, bird scenes, cityscapes, figures, flower pieces, and figure studies. Van ‘t Hoff’s work was influenced by Art Nouveau and Art Deco. There are several versions of his Archer. The most likely candidate for his entry is an oil painting with this title (167.2 x 114.3 cm), created around 1928.
