Polish sculptor and art teacher Bazyli Wójtowicz studied until 1932 at the Municipal School of Decorative Arts in Warszawa, where he later became a professor, and at the Academy of Fine Arts. Scholarships allowed him study trips to France and Italy. He then headed a workshop at what would later become the State Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. Beginning in 1939 he lived again in Warszawa. After World War II, Wójtowicz was appointed Deputy Dean of the school in Poznań. He created a number of monumental sculptures and sculptural portraits. His 49 cm high bronze figure Woman Archer (Luczniczka) was created in 1933. It was bought in 1985 by the Center for Polish Sculpture in Orońsko.
