At the 1948 Olympics, Swedish architect Örjan Lüning received an Honorable Mention for his work Model of a Civic and Sporting Hall for Rydboholm in the category Architecture / Architectural Designs. In 1947/48 he planned this hall for Rydboholm, a village north of Stockholm. However, the plans were not implemented. Lüning received his architectural degree at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 1945 and completed another academic year in Sevilla in 1951. Later he went on study trips worldwide. Lüning conducted his architectural urban plan activities in Stockholm until 1995, mostly in his own office. He was also a well-known philatelist who was a specialist in aerophilately.
