American sculptor Amory Simons began art studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and continued in Paris under sculptors and teachers Dampt, Puech, and Rodin. He was active in New York before moving to Hollywood in the late 1920s. By 1940 he had settled in Santa Barbara where he taught at the School of Arts. Simons was best known for his bronze horses. There was a photo of the “Hand Stand of Eric Emson” in the Los Angeles Times, but with no further information.
