Warren Wheelock was an American sculptor, painter, illustrator, teacher and author. He was especially known for his clean geometric lines to create figures that were non-objective, and Wheelock also did representational heroic portraits. He used oil on wood panels and on plaster. He carved soapstone and did bas relief in plaster. In 1915 Wheelock built a log cabin in the North Carolina mountains, which he used as his studio. He became an active member of the community and even served as a teacher, doctor and undertaker. Wheelock served in Company K of the 6th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Spanish American War.
