American Charles Arthur Ridgway published a number of songs between 1931 and 1941, and was best known for his musical score of poems by aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. In 1935 he published a musical version of the children’s tale Snickerty Nick & the Giant. As a musician, he graduated in Cleveland in 1899, and became a prominent figure in the musical scene of Dayton, Ohio. Amongst others, he was a musician and musical teacher at the Dayton Conservatory of Music, and director of the Dayton Civic Music League. Later, he lived in the Los Angeles area.
