Carla Campregher was a post-World War II Italian swimmer who started swimming with Rari Nantes Trento, a club founded in 1930. In August 1940 she won the first Italian swimming title for her Trentino region with a victory in the student’s 400 freestyle, setting a national record with 6:47.2.
After the war and always in the same event, Campregher achieved her only Italian senior title in 1946 in Levico with 6:24.0. In those years, between 1946 and 1954, she obtained numerous podiums in the 4x100 freestyle relay, winning only the 3x100 medley relay in 1948. In 1952 Campregher competed at her only Olympics where she was a substitute for the freestyle relay. She ended her sports career in 1954 at age 27.
