Toma Balci was entered in the hammer throw at both the 1948 and 1952 Olympics, but never actually competed at the Olympics. He was also a popular Turkish footballer (soccer). Balci was best known in Turkey, however, as an actor, appearing in numerous movies, including “Tarzan in Istanbul” (1952), “None But the Lonely Spy” (1964), and “Babacan” (1975).
