Crystl Bustos was a softball player who competed at the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Olympic Games, winning gold medals in 2000-04 and a silver in 2008. She played third base and designated player and was known as a power hitter. Bustos won three gold medals at the 1999, 2003, and 2007 Pan American Games, and helped the USA to the 2006 and 2007 World Championships. She was the 2008 USA Softball Player of the Year.
Bustos played in college at Palm Beach State College. She played professionally with the Akron Racers and the Orlando Wahoos. Retiring after the Beijing Olympics, Bustos later became the manager of the Akron Racers, although she returned to play in 2010.
