Danielle Henderson was a softball pitcher who helped the United States win gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She also won gold at the 1999 Pan American Games.
Henderson played in college at the University of Massachusetts (U Mass), throwing six no-hitters and two perfect games in her senior season. She left school as the all-time conference leader in ERA, shutouts, perfect games (3), and WHIP. She was the 1999 Honda Sports Award winner. After her time with the US National Team Henderson played in National Pro Fastpitch from 2004-07, playing for the Arizona Heat and the New England Riptide.
Henderson became a softball coach, starting as a private pitching coach and then assistant coach at U Mass, Stanford, and The Ohio State University. In 2014 she was named associate head coach at U Mass and then in 2015 became the head coach at U Mass Lowell. Henderson was inducted into the New England Women’s Hall of Fame in 2002 and the U Mass Hall of Fame in 2009.
