Jamie Rauch was a freestyle swimmer mostly known internationally for his contributions to US relay teams. He swam at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, winning a silver medal in the 4x200 freestyle relay. At the 2001 World Aquatics Championships he won bronze with the 4x200 free relay team, and he took a gold in that event at the 1997 World University Games.
Rauch swam at the University of Texas, helping the Longhorns win NCAA titles in 2000 and 2001. He was named to the US team for the 2001 Goodwill Games but decided to retire and went into the asset management industry.
Rauch’s wife, Lauren, later started competing in triathlons, so he started training with her. He then stepped away from the financial world to become a stay-at-home Dad and set up his own company training and conditioning athletes for triathlons and endurance events.
