Christophe Pognon was a tennis player from Benin who played professionally from 1994 to 2011. Pognon achieved a career-best singles ranking of #804 in the world in August 2001 and was a mainstay on the Beninese Davis Cup team throughout his career, playing in 37 matches and winning 18. Although he never qualified for a Grand Slam tournament, he was awarded with a wild card place for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, but lost to Guga Kuerten in straight sets.
