Biography

Dutch tennis player Kristie Boogert turned professional in 1991, specialising in the doubles. Boogert achieved a career-best doubles ranking of #16 in the world in February 1997 and a singles ranking of #29 in the world in February 1996. Prior to winning three WTA doubles titles in 1996 she won the mixed doubles title with compatriot Menno Oosting at the 1994 French Open. In 2000 Boogert and Miriam Oremans won silver at the Sydney Olympics after losing to Serena and Venus Williams in the final. She was forced to retire from the sport in 2003 due to chronic elbow pain.
