Biography

Tina Pisnik was a Slovenian tennis player who played professionally from 1999 to 2005. Pisnik achieved a career-best singles ranking of #29 in the world in January 2004 and a doubles ranking of #63 in the world in April 2000. She won her only WTA singles title in May 2000 with a straight sets victory against Amélie Mauresmo. As a doubles player she fared slightly better with two titles; the first in November 1999 with Jelena Kostanić, followed by her second title in February 2005 with Emmanuelle Gagliardi. At Grand Slams she reached the third round on multiple occasions in both the singles and doubles but never advanced any further. Pisnik competed at two Olympic Games for Slovenia; playing in the singles at the 2000 Sydney Games, and the singles and doubles at the 2004 Athina Games.
