Biography

Swiss tennis player Emmanuelle Gagliardi competed professionally from 1994 to 2008. Gagliardi achieved a career-best singles ranking of #42 in the world in May 2002 and a doubles ranking of #22 in the world in September 2004. Whilst she never won a WTA singles title during her career, she did win four doubles titles, along with one mixed doubles title. In 2003 she reached the doubles semi-finals at the Australian Open with the Hungarian player Petra Mandula. Gagliardi competed at two Olympic Games for Switzerland, playing in the singles and doubles in Sydney, before returning eight years later for the doubles at the Beijing Games.
