As a doubles specialist Slovak tennis player Janette Husárová was ranked number three in the world in April 2003. Husárová’s career spanned from 1991 to 2016, with her winning 25 WTA titles and earning almost $2.5 million in prize money. Her first doubles win on the WTA Tour came at the Palermo Ladies Open in Italy in July 1996, pairing with the Austrian Barbara Schett. Her most successful partnership was with the Russian player Yelena Dementyeva, with the pair finishing as runners-up at the 2002 US Open and winning the 2002 WTA Tour Championship in Los Angeles. Husárová was also a three-time Olympian, competing in the doubles at Sydney, Athina, and Beijing.
