Ryan Bailey was a four-time water polo Olympian for the United States (2000-12), winning a silver medal in 2008. He also won four gold medals at the Pan American Games, in 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2011. Bailey played collegiately at UC Irvine, where he was a four-time All-American, and was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year in 1998.
After college Bailey played professionally in Europe for several different clubs. He started with VK Jug in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 2004, but then played for Dynamo Moskva (2004-05), VK Jadran Split in Croatia (2005-06), Panionios in Greece (2006), and then VK Partizan in Servia (2007-09). Bailey was inducted into the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame in 2019.
