Florica Lavric had a short career as a rower, highlighted by her 1984 Olympic gold medal in the coxed fours, alongside Maria Fricioiu, Chira Apostol, Olga Homeghi-Bularda, and Viorica Ioja. Lavric also won silver at the 1983 and 1985 World Championships in coxed fours and bronze at the 1986 World Championships in eights. Her career ended in 1987 when she contracted meningitis and had to retire from rowing. She later died from cancer.
