Cheryl Haworth was a super-heavyweight weightlifter who competed at three Olympic Games (2000-08), winning a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She was a softball player in her youth and began weightlifting to strengthen her muscles for softball.
Haworth was the 1999 Pan American Games Champion and also won a gold medal at the 2001 Goodwill Games. She was World Junior Champion in 2001 and 2002, and won the USA Championship for 11 consecutive years, 1998-2008.
Haworth attended Savannah Arts Academy and later the Savannah College of Art and Design. She later became a professional artist.
