Bob Mason was a goaltender who played college hockey at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He had a decent NHL career after playing with the US Olympic team in 1984. He played for eight years, starting with four with the Washington Capitals, and then playing a single season each with the Chicago Blackhawks, Quebec Nordiques, back to the Capitols, and finishing his NHL career with the Vancouver Canucks. But Mason also played all over the American and International Hockey Leagues in the minors. He played with the Hershey Bears, Binghamton Whalers, Halifax Citadels, Baltimore Skipjacks, Milwaukee Admirals, Hamilton Canucks, and the Fort Wayne Komets. He later became a goaltending coach, starting with the Atlanta Thrashers, but then coaching in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild.
