One of the smaller US bobsledders ever, at only 5-4 (163) and 140 lbs. (64 kg.), Charles McDonald was called “Chesty” because, in his own words, he was “all chest.” In addition to his Olympic appearance, he competed at the World Championships in 1965 and 1966. In 1968 he was the driver for the 2-man team that won the North American Championship.
