Biography

Defender Dieter Medicus was a member of the West German ice hockey team that placed fifth at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. In total, he earned 98 international caps, scoring 2 goals and appearing at three World Championships. In 2007 he was inducted into the German Hockey Hall of Fame.

Domestically, Medicus played with ESV Kaufbeuren (1974-79 and 1981-90), ECD Iserlohn (1979-80), EHC 70 München (1980-81), BSC Preussen Berlin (1990-92), and Augsburger EV (until 1995). He then started a coaching career at Augsburger EV and ESV Kaufbeuren. He later built up the Health Centers at Kaufbeuren and Bad Wörishofen.
