Biography
East German luger Hans-Joachim Menge partnered Detlef Bertz at the 1984 nationals and the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. At the nationals both earned a silver medal but at Sarajevo they finished a disappointing 15th in doubles after a fall in the first run. One year later they both earned another bronze at the East German nationals.
