Biography

Ilkka Mesikämmen was a Finnish ice hockey player who represented TPS Turku and Porin Ässät throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Mesikämmen played in 417 league games during his career and won the league title with TPS in 1978. He also played in 74 matches for the national team, including competing at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics. Early in his career he was a keen footballer, which saw him play three matches for Turku Football Club in the 1963 season. Mesikämmen was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988.
