Tom Moon was born in Canada but grew up near Boston, and attended school in the area. He never played college hockey but was a star with the Boston Olympics, helping win the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1935, 1937, and 1939. He lived in the Boston area where he worked as a sales manager for a large metal company
