Ice hockey player Hans Georg Pescher finished eighth with the German team at the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympic Games. He won 35 international caps. In 1952 he won the German Championship with Krefelder EV, beating SC Riessersee 6-4 in the final at Mannheim. In 1959 he had a short stint as coach of Krefelder EV. He was later inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
