Biography

Austrian ice hockey forward Herbert Pöck, father of later NHL professionals non-Olympian Markus and Thomas Pöck, participated in three editions of Olympic Winter Olympics: 1976 at Innsbruck, 1984 Sarajevo, and 1988 Calgary. The Austrians did not advance to the final rounds in any of those Games. In total, Pöck won 127 international caps and scored 55 goals and 73 assists.

Herbert Pöck played domestically entirely with Klagenfurter AC from 1973-90 and won national titles in 1974, 1976-77, 1979-80, and 1985-88. He then turned to coaching with EC Graz, DEK Klagenfurt and EK Zell am See. Between 2002-05 he coached the Austrian national team.
