Biography

Peter Raffl, father of ice hockey professionals Michael and Thomas Raffl, was an Austrian ice hockey forward who participated in the 1984 Sarajevo and 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. On both occasions, the Austrian team was eliminated in the group stage. In total, he won 60 international caps, scoring 11 goals and 13 assists.

Domestically, Raffl played exclusively with Villacher SV from 1975-98, winning the Austrian national title three times in 1981, 1992-93. He later turned to coaching at Villach and also with the Austrian Under-18 national team, when he coached both of his sons.
