Ice hockey forward Hans Schneider played domestically with Pötzleinsdorfer SK (1931-32), EK Engelmann Wien (Vienna) (1932-39 and 1946-48), and Wiener (Vienna) EG (1939-40). After the Nazi German “Anschluss” he won the German national title in 1939 with Engelmann Wien (Vienna) and with Wiener EG in 1940.
Schneider also played for Austria at the 1935 and 1947 World Championships, helping them to a bronze medal in 1947. As the Worlds doubled as the European Championships in that era, he also gained the European bronze medal. In 1938, he represented Germany at the World Championships. At the 1948 St. Moritz Winter Olympics the Austrian team finished seventh.
