Forward Siegfried Schubert placed sixth with the West German ice hockey team at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympic Games. Four years later in Innsbruck the team finished seventh with Schubert as its top scorer. He earned 75 caps with the national team and scored 18 goals.
Domestically Schubert played for EV Füssen, winning West German titles in 1957-59, 1961, 1963-65, and as a coach in 1971. After his active career he studied public administration management and started a career as a coach for several Bavarian ice hockey clubs, and also as a regional coach for Bavaria and in youth coaching functions for the German Ice Hockey Association. Schubert was inducted into the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 2008.
