Jouni Seistamo played ice hockey for Tappara during the 1950s and 1960s for ten seasons. In 1957-58, his first season with Tappara, he was the team’s top scorer. For the 1966-67 season, Seistamo was the team captain and also won three national titles and seven SM medals. He finished his playing career as the all-time top scorer for Tappara, with 102 goals. Seistamo was the first player to be inducted into Tappara’s Hall of Fame.
At an international level, Seistamo represented Finland at the 1960 Squaw Valley and the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics and at four World Championships (1959, 1961-1963). Overall, he represented Finland in 88 matches, scoring 27 goals.
