Edgar Seymour attended Penn State, graduating in 1938, and later earning a PhD in engineering from the University of Rochester. He stayed in the area, working for many years for Eastman Kodak in Rochester. With his bobsled partner, Art Tyler, he twice won the North American and US 2-man championships, both in 1952-53. Seymour later became very involved in another sport, soaring, or gliding. He was eventually inducted into the Soaring Hall of Fame, and for promoting the sport, was given an Exceptional Service Award in 1989.
