John Shene slid for the Adirondack Bobsled Club and 1933 he was North American 4-man Champion, on a sled driven by Hubert Stevens. Shene later became police chief of Lake Placid, a trustee of the village, and a judge there as well. He was a member of the Saranac Lake Elks Lodge, the New York Magistrates Association, the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police, and was the first President of the New York State Chapter of the FBI National Academy Association.
