Although he attended Boston University briefly Gordon Smith played most of his amateur hockey with the Boston Hockey Club and the Boston Olympics. In addition to his silver medals, he was on the U.S. National team that competed at the 1931 World Championships. Smith later became very successful as an investment counselor with Standish, Ayer & Wood in Boston.
