Petra Grabowski, later married to her teammate Hans-Joachim Borzym, was an East German flatwater canoeist who won the silver medal in the K-2 500 with Ilse Kaschube at the 1972 München Olympics. Only one year later they also claimed the East German title and the World Championship. Grabowski won three more silver medals and two bronze medals at World Championships in different events. She also won national titles with non-Olympian Petra Setzkorn in 1969 and 1970, while in 1973 she also won the K-1 national title and in 1974 and 1976 with the K4.
Grabowski trained as a machine construction drawer, but later studied sports at the Pedagogic High School in Potsdam and graduated as a sports teacher. She worked in this job until 1993 and then helped her husband to run a sports goods shop in Brandenburg on Havel. In 1997 she was hurt by pistol shots during a robbery but fully recovered. In 2011 the couple retired.
