Viktor Tišler

Left winger Viktor Tišler was a legend in Yugoslavian ice hockey. He played almost his entire club career, from 1956-70, with Jesenice HK, in his Slovenian hometown, winning 12 national titles. In 1968-69 he attended NHL training camps in the United States with the Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues and played that season with the Springfield (Massachusetts) Kings of the American Hockey League. In the 1971-72 season Tišler played for Olimpija Ljubljana and then retired from club hockey. During his Yugoslav club career he played in 801 games and scored 719 points, with 350 goals. In 1959 he set a still-standing (as of 2013) Yugoslav record of 11 goals in one game.

In addition to his three Olympic apperances, Tišler was on the Yugoslavian team 16 times at the World Championships from 1961-77, playing nationally for several years after he stopped playing club hockey, although 15 of those appearances were in the B group, and the other in the C group. Tišler was capped 175 times for Yugoslavia, scoring 140 points with 81 goals.
