Ralph Wakley skied for the University of Utah, graduating in 1969, and being named All-American that year in skiing. He has been in the Army in 1968, competing with the US Army’s rifle team, and making the 1968 Olympic biathlon team. Wakley later became a journalist, working for over 20 years for United Press International (UPI), and after its demise, for the Ogden (UT) Standard-Examiner.
