Biography

Katie Monahan was an Alpine skier who was a speed specialist. She competed at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics. Monahan was on the World Cup circuit from 1992 to 2002, with one podium finish, a third-place in Super-G in 1999 at St. Moritz. She also won several Nor-Am Cup races early in her career and was the 1995 overall champion in the Nor-Am Cup.

She later worked as a trauma nurse in Flagstaff, Arizona for two years, and then went to the University of New England in Maine to train as a nurse anaesthestist. Monahan practiced as an anaesthetist at the Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
