Chip Knight was a slalom specialist who skied that event at the 1998, 2002, and 2006 Winter Olympics. Knight won a gold medal in slalom at the 1993 World Junior Championships and then added a silver in that event in 1994. A 13-year member of the US ski team, he was US Champion in the slalom in 1996, and won the season slalom title in the Nor-Am Cup in 1995/96, 2001/02, and 2004/05, and well as taking the giant slalom season title in 2001/02.
Knight retired from racing in 2006 and returned to Williams College to finish his degree and serve as assistant Alpine ski coach. He later became women’s head coach and director of skiing at Dartmouth College.
